From Our Pastor And First Lady

Fellow Christians and Would-be-Christians, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ has not promised us and the Church a smooth life sailing but rather the promise to get us and the Church to the point of a victorious and successful destination, so long as we follow His command and never give up.

As pastor, I wear four basic hats: one as a christian, two as a husband, married to my precious wife, Margaretta Ross Senyah, three as a father of our teenage son, Joseph Daniel Senyah and four as a pastor. It is only by the Grace and Mercy of God that I am able to keep a balance of these very important hats.

Mrs. Margeretta Ross Senyah earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is currently completing a Master of Social Work at Aurora University.

She has an extensive background work experience in Insurance and a trememdous compassion in working with minorities and the underpriviliged.

I earned my Master of Pastoral Studies (M.P.S.) and Master of Religious Education (M. Rel. Ed.), from Loyola University of Chicago, Illinois.

Prior to my appointment as the Pastor of Mayo, I served as the Pastor of Malone in Sioux City Iowa; of Bethel in Beloit, Wisconsin and St. James in Elgin, Illinios, successively for a total of 21 years.

None of these life stages came to my wife and me on a silver platter and neither did they come with a smooth sailing, but thank God, our obedience to the commands and promises of Jesus Christ brought us through.

It is always proper and beneficial to acknowledge the labors of leaders of yester-years and so I salute the Rev. Joseph M. James, Jr. and Mrs. Ruth James, who tirelessly and efficiently co-labored in founding Mayo. Sincere thanks also to my immediate predecessor, the Rev. Dr. Norris E. Jackson and his wife Mrs. Tanji Jackson for the wonderful job they did at Mayo.

Now to my Mayo Church Family, "I thank my God in all remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all, in view of your participation in the Gospel from the first day until now. For I am confident of this very thing that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." - (Philippians 1:3-6)

As we move ahead, let us challenge ourselves to prayerfully and diligently seek innovative, constructive, grassroots and holistic ways to be about Our Father's business in the Church and in the community.

Finally Fellow Christians and Would-be-Christians, whenever storms come up against our lives, let us remember that our Victorious Life-Captain, Jesus Christ, never goes to sleep on us and that He is always close by to give us a helping hand if only we choose to obey His commands and promises. -(Mark 4:35-40 and Matthew 14:22-32)

God's Richest Blessings Be Always Upon You,

Rev. Francis and Mrs. Margaretta Senyah
