Scholarships
Joseph M.
James Jr. Scholarships are awarded to recent high school
graduates and continuing college students. Recipients of the Joseph M.
James Scholarship must be a member of the church for at least
one year, active in at least one church organization, accepted and
enrolled in college full time, and must be approved by
the scholarship committee and Pastor James.
The scholarship's
main fundraiser is the penny drive, which is held
annually in July, amongst other fundraisers held during the year. The scholarship committee also sends care packages, book vouchers, and constantly
stays in contact with Mayo's college
students.
An application must be completed for
consideration for the
scholarship with the students name, college, expected graduation
date, and the name of the church organization(s)
with active
participation.
If a student fits the above criteria,
please do not
hesitate to contact one of the committee members for additional
information and/or an application.
If anyone is
interested in sponsoring a college student or donating to the
scholarship fund, please contact Mayo Administrative
Assistant at (708) 503-1400 or e-mail us at
mayoamec@comcast.net
