Church Organizations
The African Methodist Episcopal Church is a connectional
organization. Each local church is a part of the larger connection.
Connectional - A structural organization principle that all (national and international) A.M.E. church congregations are a connected network of unique, compatible, interdependent relationships to accomplish the mission and purpose of the church.
Each local church has organizations composed of members
appointed by the pastor, nominated by the pastor and elected
by the congregation, or serve as "doorkeepers" in the church.
